History

2007-8: FRC team 2723 “Atomic Shock” is started in the spring with founding sponsors Boeing and ITT Technical Institute.

2008-9: Atomic Shock’s first season – competing at the Oklahoma City Regional with a team of 20 students.

2009-10: We added a FIRST Tech Challenge team (3638 Atomic Shock II) which won the Oklahoma Regional Championship and qualified for the World Championship in the Georgia Dome in Atlanta. FRC 2723 competed in the Oklahoma City Regional.

2010-11: Due to the interest in our program, Mount St. Mary High School added a robotics elective with an initial enrollment of 24. We added a second FTC team (4266 Red Dirt Robotics). Atomic Shock II was on the winning alliance at the FTC Oklahoma Regional Championship. We added new sponsors: Mercedes-Benz of OKC and Leavitt Signs.

2011-12: We added a third FTC Team (4962 Ballistic Bots) for this season, hosted an FTC quick-build event and the first Oklahoma City FTC qualifying tournament and were awarded a grant to support Jr. FLL teams of children of parents taking English as a Second Language evening classes at our school. We gained new sponsors: Team Tinker and Northern Tools.
