Competition: Team Rocket competes in FIRST robotics challenges:

  • FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) Teams 3638 (Atomic Shock), 4266 (Rock-It Robotics) and 4962 (Rockettes) compete mainly Sep-Feb. These teams have combined for over 60 awards and nominations since 2014, including two state championships as Winning Alliance Captain and the Inspire Award at the 2017 Oklahoma State Championship.
  • FIRST Robotics Competition  Team 2723 (Team Rocket) competes Jan-Apr and was recognized with the Engineering Inspiration Award at the 2017 Dallas FRC Regional.

STEM Outreach and Education: Members of Team Rocket spend over 1500 hours each year promoting Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) education, running summer camps for K-8th grade students and leading impactful public demonstrations.

Developing Leaders: Our students work directly with professional scientists, engineers and business people to get a taste of different career options.  They also mentor younger or less experienced teams. In the last four years, their individual recognitions include six FIRST Dean’s List Finalists, six NCWIT Aspirations Winners, and a FIRST Dean’s List Winner.

Networking: FIRST is family, and our family extends across the nation and around the world. During 2016-17, we visited six states and met with professionals from Google, NASA, Lockhead-Martin, Boeing, Servo City, Dell, Universal Studios-Florida and Disney Imagineering, among others!

Building science and technology leaders.
